This Privacy Policy describes how personal data of visitors, members and training participants ("Users") is processed on the https://gokhanatakan.com.tr website ("Site"). Under Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK"), the data controller is the company identified above.

2. Personal Data We Collect

  • Identity & contact: name, e-mail, phone, profession (dentist/student), city.
  • Membership: account ID, password hash, profile photo, session records, IP address, user-agent.
  • Training & invoicing: registration date, training info, invoice type (personal/corporate), national ID or tax number, invoice address.
  • Payment: transaction amount, currency, instalment info, card BIN (first 6) and last 4 digits, bank authorisation code, transaction date. Full card number and CVV are never stored; they are entered directly on the bank's 3D Secure page.
  • Legal consent logs: timestamps, IP address and document version hash for the Distance Sales Agreement, Preliminary Information Form and KVKK Notice (kept for evidentiary purposes).
  • Contact form submissions.
  • Cookies and technical data: session cookies, preferences, anonymous traffic analysis.

3. Purposes of Processing

  • Training registration, payment collection and contract performance.
  • Issuing e-invoices and meeting legal retention obligations.
  • Membership management, account security, fraud prevention.
  • Responding to enquiries, sending training reminders.
  • Site security, error monitoring and performance improvement.
  • Compliance with applicable law (Tax Procedure Code, Law No. 6502, KVKK, payment card regulations).

4. Legal Bases

Personal data is processed under KVKK art. 5/2 where (i) necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract, (ii) required to meet a legal obligation, (iii) necessary for the establishment, exercise or protection of a right, or (iv) the legitimate interest of the data controller — and, for all other cases, based on your explicit consent.

5. Transfers

Personal data may be shared with the following parties:

  • Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. — payment processing via 3D Secure virtual POS.
  • e-Invoice/e-Archive integrator — legal invoicing.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — website hosting, database, transactional e-mail delivery. Some of these providers may be based outside Türkiye; such transfers are performed under KVKK art. 9 on the basis of explicit consent and/or standard contractual clauses.
  • Competent public authorities and courts — upon legal request.

6. Retention

  • Membership data: for the lifetime of the account + 10 years.
  • Payment and invoicing records: 10 years (Turkish Tax Procedure Code).
  • Legal consent logs: 10 years (Law No. 6502 and evidentiary obligations).
  • Server logs: 2 years (Law No. 5651).
  • Contact form messages: up to 3 years after response.

7. Cookies

The Site uses strictly necessary cookies to maintain your session and remember preferences. Optional analytics cookies are only set with your explicit consent. You can change your cookie preferences at any time through your browser or the cookie banner at the bottom of the Site.

8. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Database access is restricted by row-level security. Administrator access is protected by multi-factor authentication. Full card data is never stored outside the bank's infrastructure.

9. Your Rights (KVKK art. 11)

You have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed, access it, request correction or deletion, learn about third-party recipients, and request compensation for any damage caused by unlawful processing. Submit requests to dr.gokhanatakan [at] gmail [dot] com or by signed letter to the postal address above. Requests are answered within 30 days at no cost.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy in response to legal changes or changes in our services. The current version is always published on this page; the "last updated" date at the top governs.
